DIÁLOGOS VISUALES

CESC ABAD, MALKA AVERSA, ALBERTO BARCIA, EDUARD BIGAS, COVADONGA CASTRO, ÁNGEL FERNÁNDEZ, RENATA LEZAMA, RÓMULO ROYO
16.09 - 24.10.2025

This exhibition brings together eight voices that, through different techniques and generations, reflect on matter, memory, and image. It proposes a non-linear journey where painting, drawing, material collage, and sculpture intertwine to open up questions: How is reality transformed as it passes through the studio? What connections are forged between gesture, technique, and narrative?

The selection emphasizes invisible affinities: Symbolic landscapes that oscillate between the dreamlike and the critical (Cesc Abad, Rómulo Royo); poetics of matter that turn waste into metaphor (Renata Lezama); the pulse of drawing as a living archive (Ángel Fernández, Alberto Barcia); painting that moves between personal memory and collective imagination (Eduard Bigas, Covadonga Castro). Malka Aversa, through her transitions between media, brings a sensitivity that highlights the processes behind image construction.

Cesc Abad (Barcelona, 1973)
For years, Cesc Abad balanced business management with a secret studio where he pursued his artistic passion. In 2016, he decided to devote himself fully to art, exhibiting in galleries such as Victor Lope, Mayoral, and Alzueta. His work has been shown in Amsterdam, Sydney, Dubai, and Korea, consolidating an innovative pictorial language with international reach.

Malka Aversa (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1994)
Aversa combines photography, printmaking, and painting into a visual language that is constantly evolving. Trained in Argentina, New York, and the Basque Country, she has worked extensively in lithography and participated in international residencies. Her work explores image construction through hybrid techniques and a contemporary sensibility.

Alberto Barcia (Tossa de Mar, Girona, 1982)
Barcia’s practice centers on drawing as an immediate record and archive of experience. His ink-on-paper line work reveals a tension between spontaneity and structure. His pieces have been included in group exhibitions that highlight the vitality of graphic gesture.

Eduard Bigas (Palafrugell, Girona, 1969)
Bigas constructs a pictorial world that bridges the intimate and the collective, where landscapes and figures evoke memory, desire, and personal narrative. His dreamlike language draws from Mediterranean traditions and has been exhibited internationally.

Covadonga Castro (Madrid, 1993)
Castro approaches painting as a space for memory and storytelling. Her compositions, often architectural in nature, suggest places suspended between the real and the symbolic. Her work reveals a deep interest in the materiality of color and the creation of atmosphere.

Ángel Fernández (Madrid, 1966)
Fernández presents a polyhedron of mirrors that reflect both the world and the hearts of those who dare to look. His works hold secrets and stories for those willing to uncover them. He is deeply committed to both art and craft—his hands intertwined with time and process. Without haste or pause, each piece is created to the rhythm of his own heartbeat. Large or small, his work is blood and life.

Renata Lezama (Mexico City, 1997)
Lezama transforms recycled materials into poetic metaphors. Her research into plastics and metals re-signifies waste as a terrain of beauty and reflection. Her work exists at the intersection of sustainability, materiality, and memory.

Rómulo Royo (Zaragoza, 1976)
Royo explores a universe where myth, dreams, and social critique coexist. His painting, marked by technical precision and an enveloping atmosphere, engages with universal iconographic traditions. He has exhibited internationally and developed a body of work known for its symbolic power.
