EXHIBITION OPENING: RELATOS (IN)VISIBLES: ENTRE CIELO Y TIERRA AT THE CENTRO DE ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO DE AÍNSA – SOBRARBE – 1 APRIL 2023

The City Council of Aínsa-Sobrarbe, the Istituto Centrale del Patrimonio Immateriale, the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, and Galería Miguel Marcos are pleased to invite you this Saturday, April 1st, at 12:00 p.m., to the presentation of the exhibition project promoted by the Ministry of Culture of the Italian Republic.

Promoted by the Istituto Centrale del Patrimonio Immateriale of Rome, with the scientific coordination of Leandro Ventura, director of the Institute, and Stefania Baldinotti, anthropologist in charge of the visual anthropology laboratory, and curated for the contemporary section by Dominique Lora and Micol Di Veroli, “(In)Visible Tales: Between Heaven and Earth” is the second edition of a major travelling exhibition project, created in collaboration with the “Network of Large Shoulder-Borne Structures” and numerous heritage communities. The project focuses on the diversity and significance of intangible heritage protected under the 2003 UNESCO Convention.

The exhibition features works by 15 contemporary Italian artists: Antonio Ligabue, Matteo Basilé, Bertozzi & Casoni, Paolo Buggiani, Cinzia Sarto, Vincenzo Marsiglia, Stefano Canto, Angelo Bellobono, Davide Dormino, Simone Pellegrini, Elena Bellantoni, Elena Mazzi, Leonardo Petrucci, Benedetto Pietromarchi, and Maurizio Sapia. Their works engage thematically with the audiovisual itinerary, composed of the compelling narrative of short films directed by Francesco de Melis and the ethnographic reports by photographer Massimo Cutrupi, both dedicated to Italian intangible cultural heritage.

The exhibition, part of the international project of the same name, will tour between February 2023 and June 2024 through the cities of Barcelona, Aínsa, Madrid, Lisbon, Havana, and New York City, and will remain open until June 24, 2023.
