Official Opening Contemporary Art Archive

The Miguel Marcos Contemporary Art Documentary Fund is a collaborative project between the Aínsa-Sobrarbe Town Council and the Miguel Marcos Gallery in Barcelona. This documentary fund, located in the building of the Aínsa Municipal Library, was created with the aim of providing, preserving, disseminating, and making available to society a carefully curated selection of bibliography on international contemporary art. It serves as a fundamental tool for professionals, researchers, and the general public who wish to explore or deepen their understanding of this period.

The material that composes it is organized around the collection of printed publications that the Miguel Marcos Gallery Library has been gathering—and, on some occasions, publishing—since its beginnings in the late 1970s. Its content encompasses disciplines related to Art History, Fine Arts, and Art Education, and supports research through these fields.

Thus, with the aim of creating connections between the artistic and cultural spheres and promoting collaborative work among individuals or institutions with shared interests, this fund provides users with publications of significant documentary value that help to understand and contextualize the social and historical reality of art in recent decades.
