Santiago Serrano (Toledo, Spain, 1942) is one of the most important artists of the contemporary Spanish art scene, becoming a fundamental referent of the Spanish abstraction. Santiago Serrano’s work is a constant research into the different elements and procedures of painting and printmaking, proposing unique pieces in which traditional techniques and the possibilities given by the new technologies of image digitalization are combined. Amongst the recognition he has received throughout his trajectory stand out the Beca de la Fundación Juan March (1968), the Premio Nacional de Grabado (1996) or the Premio del Jurado en la 4º Trienal Internacional de Grabado de Egipto (2003).
